Each massage is customized to the individual's needs and/or goals. After discussing the goal for the session, a plan is made. Techniques/modalities are added or modified to fit the needs of that particular session.
Generally speaking, Swedish massage is an all-over relaxation massage, with or without special attention given to trouble spots. Relaxation and circulation are increased through the use of a series rhythmic strokes and techniques. This is the most common form of massage practiced in the US and the one with which most people are familiar.

Expectant mothers require special attention due to the changes that take place in their bodies as the baby grows. Certification in pre-natal massage means that I have passed a course which teaches specific techniques and considerations to be administered to pregnant women. Understanding your needs, and making you comfortable with special bolstering techniques are among the specialized training. Other factors to consider are assessing any contra-indications that may arise during your pregnancy.

Reiki is a healing practice. It dates back thousands of years and was brought to the US from Japan.
If you are new to Reiki, it is literally 'laying on of hands'. You will lie on the massage table in comfortable clothes while I work to funnel Universal Life Energy from the world around us into you. I start at the top of your head and work down to your feet, either placing my hands gently upon your body or hovering just above it. During the treatment, some people feel a tingling or vibrating sensation, others feel nothing at all. At the end of the session, people feel very relaxed. On occasion, reiki can bring about strong emotional releases.

Rates are consistent across massage techniques/modalities
In some massage practices, different rates are charged depending on the type of work being done. With custom massage, the techniques and modalities are mixed as necessary. Rates are based upon the duration of the treatment, not the type of work performed.
Payment is expected at the time of the treatment.
The only thing better than having a massage is having a massage and not having to get dressed and drive home afterward.
